Lockdown Browser Support

Information about the LockDown browser which isn't supported in the University ourtide of a few specific contexts.

Overview

LockDown Browser is a custom browser created by Respondus that locks down assessments in Canvas and other learning systems. We support Lockdown Browser only in the context of the University Testing Center, where it is installed on centrally maintained computers in a controlled environment. We are unable to support its use for students' personal computers.

 

Detail

Since the LockDown browser isn't supported in the University outside of specific contexts if a student is having issues with it, it's best to check with Respondus's technical support site. Here are a few common things that come up:

• LockDown Browser: The Student Experience
• LockDown Browser froze during a test and I cannot exit.
• "Error loading application resources. A resource file is either missing or has been corrupted."
