Notification Automation When a Document is Updated to Teams

Summary

This article demonstrates how to use an automation to alert team members when a document has been updated.

Body

Automate notifications when a file is updated or uploaded by using the Workflow App in Teams. 

 

1. Click on the Apps button.

2.  Type Workflows in the app search bar.

3.  Locate the Microsoft app Workflows (purple icon with the 3 circles), and click Add.

4. Click the Create button

5.  In the search templates bar type "Notify a channel when SharePoint list items are modified", and press enter to search.

6. Click the workflow

7. Click Next

8. Click the drop-downs to select the following information:

    a. SharePoint Site (Team Name)

    b. Library Name

    c. Microsoft Teams Team

    d. Microsoft Teams Channel

9. Click the Create flow button.

      a. You will get notified via a Teams post that there was an update/upload of a file from SharePoint.
