Access Voicemail

From your phone

  1. Dial 4-0003.

  2. Enter your security code.

 

From someone else's campus phone:

  1. Dial 412-624-0003.
  2. Press the pound [#] key.
  3. Enter your five-digit phone number (your extension).
  4. Enter your security code.

 

When off campus:

  1. Dial 412-624-0003.
  2. Press the # key.
  3. Enter your five-digit phone number (your extension).
  4. Enter your security code.

 

First Time Setup:

  1. Dial 4-0003 or dial 412-624-0003 (if you are dialing from another extension or from outside the system).
  2. If you are not calling from your office phone:
    • If you hear the prompt "Enter the extension number of the person you want to reach," press the pound key [#]. Then enter the last five digits of your phone number.
    • If you hear the prompt "Please enter your security code", press the star key [*], then the pound key [#]. Then enter the last five digits of your phone number.
  3. Enter 00000 as a default security code.
  4. You will be prompted to create a new security code. This security code must be between 5 and 15 digits in length and should avoid simple combinations, such as 12345. Enter the new security code and press [#].
  5. Re-enter the security code to verify it, then press [#].
  6. You will be prompted to record your first and last name.
    Note: Please record all information first. Corrections can be made later.
  7. You will be prompted to record your personal greeting. You are now ready to use the system.

 

Using Voicemail

Listening and Responding

Listening to Messages:

  • Listen to new voice messages. Press [1] [1].
  • Listen to all voice messages. Press [1] [2].
  • Listen to saved messages. Press [1] [5].
  • Listen to messages sent from specific campus phone number or user. Press [3] [1].

Listening and Playback Options:

  • Rewind to the beginning of the message. Press [1] [1].
  • Pause/Resume a message. Press [2].
  • Fast forward to the end of a message. Press [3][3].
  • Replay a message. Press [4].
  • Get envelope information (date time, caller name). Press [5].
  • Forward a message after hearing it. Press [6].
  • Erase a message after hearing it. Press [7].
  • Reply to a message send from a campus phone after hearing it. Press [8].
  • Transfer to an extension after hearing a message. Press [8] [8].
  • Save a message after hearing it. Press [9].
  • Skip a message. Press [#].
  • Move from new to saved messages. Press [#] [#].
  • Quickly delete a message. Press [3] [3] [7].

 

Recording and Sending a New Message

Note: You can only record and send messages to campus users.

Send a New Message:

  1. Press [2].
  2. Record your message
  3. Press [#]
  4. Enter the five-digit phone number of recipient
  5. Press [0] to select additional delivery options (see below) and follow any prompts. When you are finished, press the pound key [#].
  6. Enter the five-digit phone number of next recipient or press the star key [*] to send.

 

Additional Delivery Options (select these after choosing recipients):

  • Send immediately. Press [#].
  • Mark as Private. Press [1].
  • Mark as urgent/not urgent. Press [2].
  • Return Receipt. Press [3].
  • Mark for future delivery. Press [4].
  • Leave callback number. Press [8].
  • To send message. Press [#].
  • To cancel recording. Press [*].

 

Changing Personal Information or Greetings

  • Record a standard greeting. Press [4] [4].
  • Record an out-of-office greeting. Press [4][6].
  • Re-record your security code. Press [4] [1] [4].
  • Re-record your name. Press [4] [1] [5].
  • Record sponsored account name. Press [4] [2] [2].
  • Record Sponsored account announcement. Press [4] [1] [6].
  • Pressed the wrong key? To cancel or backup, press [*].

 

Message Indicator Lights

The telephone message indicator lights will be lit whenever you receive new voicemail messages. If your telephone doesn't have them, you will hear an interrupted dial tone or stutter tone when you have new messages. The message waiting indicator light is activated for all new messages. It cannot be disabled for individual telephone extensions or for particular types of messages.
