The Cathedral of Learning Room 3705 Video Conferencing System

Introduction

The Cathedral of Learning Room 3705 has videoconferencing equipment installed to assist with incorporating Zoom and Teams functionality.

How to Use the Room

Turning on the room's videoconferencing system:

1. Go to the wall controller located under the right-side display on the wall. 
   
    
2. Press the Display: On button to turn on the displays. (Note: The displays will not engage until you log into your account on the room’s dedicated PC or connect a laptop.) 
    

   To use the room’s dedicated PC, select the PC button on the wall controller and log into your Pitt Account using the provided wireless keyboard and mouse located on the table.

   To use your own laptop, connect it to the provided USB-C cable on the table and press the Laptop button on the wall controller.

Using Zoom with the room’s video camera, microphone and speakers:

1. Log into Zoom with your Pitt University account and start your meeting. 
2. When prompted with selecting audio options click the Join with computer audio button.
3. Once in a meeting, click the arrow on the Audio button to open the audio menu.
4. Select a microphone by clicking on Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Poly Studio X50 Audio).
5. Next Select a speaker by clicking on Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Poly Studio X50 Audio).
6. To use the room’s video camera, click the arrow on the Video button to open the video menu.
7. Select a camera by clicking on Poly Studio X50 Video.

Using Teams with the room’s video camera, microphone and speakers:

1. Log into Teams with your Pitt University account.
2. Once in the meeting, select the arrow next to the Mic button to open the audio settings menu.
3. Under Speaker select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Poly Studio X50 Audio).
4. Under Microphone select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Poly Studio X50 Audio).
5. To use the room’s video camera, click the arrow next to the Camera button to open the camera menu.
6. Under Camera select Poly Studio X50 Video.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Screen Power and Connection

   • Ensure the screens are not blank:
     • Press the "On" button on the controller twice to ensure the screens are activated.
   • Select the appropriate connection on the controller:
     • PC for the Desktop computer.
     • Laptop for an external laptop.

2. MAC Laptop Troubleshooting

   • If using a MAC laptop and no display appears:
     • Verify that the MAC laptop is fully updated. Updating the laptop often resolves display issues.
