Overview
This article will walk you through the steps to set up your Windows computer for accessing the PRISM Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and fixing the "Application Blocked by Java Security" error.
If You Encounter These Errors
You may see one or both of the following errors when launching Oracle EBS. Both are caused by the same issue — Java is blocking the EBS application due to a certificate security restriction — and are resolved the same way.

Important: UPMC Devices
If you are on a UPMC-managed device, Java has been removed and cannot be installed. Instead, access Oracle EBS through Pitt's Virtual Desktop for Remote Work
Step 1: Install Java
If Java is not installed already, download Java from either Software Center or go to https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and download the latest version.
Step 2: Launch Configure Java
1. Click the start menu and search for Configure Java
2. Open the Configure Java application

Step 3: Add the EBS Security Exception
1. Click the Security tab
2. Set the security level to High if not set already
3. Click Edit Site List...

4. Click Add and enter: https://prdebs.p3.pitt.edu
5. Click OK, then click Continue on the security warning
6. Click OK to close the Site List window
7. Click Apply, then OK to close Java Control Panel

Step 4: Launch PRISM
1. Log into the PRISM portal
2. Click the link to launch your EBS module
3. When the .jnlp file downloads, immediately double-click it from the downloads bar
4. If prompted with a security warning, click Run or Allow
Oracle EBS should now open successfully.
