Swipe Card Access

Overview

This article explains the process to give students Axium swipe card access

To determine schema in Axium, click Maintenance --> System tab --> Swipe Card icon

  1. First open notepad and swipe a card to get the user card number. 

  2. Pull up user account info in Axium 

  3.  Change Card logon field to the User id start and end fields determined from the info in the schema 
    a. Note:  Axium schema puts the first digit into position 0, so position 1 is the second digit 
    b. Start at 1 and 12 long 

  4. Change card password field to the password start and end fields determined from the info in the schema. Start at 12 and 12 long. 

  5. Copy the username and click save and then close

  6. Login to MiPacs and click System --> Preferences. 
    a. You will get this error message.  Click ok.

  7. Click the Security tab

  8. Click the add button and paste the username from what you copied in Axium 
    a. Enter password twice  
    ***note:  If you click the swipe card options button, you will see that the MiPacs schema starts their username at position 2 which corresponds to Axium position 1. This is because the first digit is considered position 1 in Mipacs and position 0 in Axium.*** 

  9. Group membership needs to correspond to Axium Level 

  10. Send student an email notification when complete
