Using the Document Sharing Page in a Community

Overview

Document sharing allows community members to upload, share, and download files. Folders and sub-folders can be created to help organize files. Permissions can be set at the file and folder level to control who can access, upload, and update.

 

Detail

Adding a New Folder 

1. Navigate to your community, and select the Document Sharing page. It may also be titled Documents.

2. Click the Add Shared Folder button.

3. Under Folder Details enter the following information:

    a. Folder Title

    b. Folder Description

    c. Folder Icon

    d. Parent Folder (Select the drop-down if you want to place the new folder within another existing folder)

4. Set the Folder Permissions.

5. Set the folder and file visibility settings.

6. Set the Time Release Options. By default, this is set to release immediately.

7. Click the Save button.

Uploading a New File to a Folder 

1. Navigate to the folder you created, and then click the gear button.

2. Click Add File.

3. Click Choose File to upload a file.

4. Under the File Details, enter the following information:

    a. File Title

    b. File Description

    c. Access Method

    d. Student Access

6. Set the Batch Time Release Options. By default, this is set to release immediately.

7. Read the Acceptable Use Agreement, and click the check box to comply with the copyright policy.

8. Click the Upload File(s) button.
