Qualtrics Offline Surveys is a downloadable application available for iOS and Android that allows you to administer surveys on your mobile device or tablet without an Internet connection. Responses can be collected in the field on your device and then uploaded back into Qualtrics as soon as you have an Internet connection.

Use of the offline app is automatically enabled for all Faculty, Staff, and Students with Primary Pitt accounts.

This app is available for iPad, iPhone, and Android tablets and smartphones. Below is an image of the app you will want to download:

Installation and Use

Pre-Requisites

Before you begin, ensure the following:

  • You have a Qualtrics account with permission to use the Offline App. Faculty, Students, and Staff should by default have this permission.
  • Your mobile device meets the minimum system requirements (iOS or Android). The offline app is not compatible with Amazon Fire Tablets.

Downloading the App

  1.  iOS Devices: Open the App Store, search for "Qualtrics Offline Surveys," and download the app.
  2.  Android Devices: Open the Google Play Store, search for "Qualtrics Offline Surveys,"
  3.  Download the app.

 

Logging In

  • Open the app on your mobile device
  • Select the SSO option

  • Enter "pitt" where it asks for Organization ID:

  • Select "Continue" and enter your Pitt information when prompted:

 

Downloading Surveys

  • In the Offline Surveys app, use the search box to find the survey you’d like to download.
  • Tap on the survey you wish to download.
  • Tap Download Survey.
  • To update your survey if you make any changes online, simply click Refresh.  You must be connected to the internet to refresh to the latest version of your survey

Usage Notes

  • Logging in to the Offline Surveys app requires an active Internet connection. Once you’ve logged in and downloaded surveys you need, you’ll be able to go offline while collecting responses.
  • Feel free to log in to the same Qualtrics account from multiple devices. Responses collected on each mobile device can all be uploaded back to the same survey and tagged with the Device Identifier.
  • Some accounts have difficulty logging in due to the number of surveys in the account. If your account has over 100 surveys, you are at risk. You’ll typically see an error message stating, “API Error: We were unable to retrieve data from our servers. Please ensure that you have a good Internet connection and correct account permissions.”
