Overview
This document will provide a brief overview of the Microsoft Hololens 2 headset, and provide device care instructions. All hardware is sanitized with wipes after every use, and a 5-minute UV light bath every day.
Headset Overview
The Hololens 2 is an all-in-one AR headset made by Microsoft designed for ease-of-use and quick operation. Below is a 360 walk around of the hardware:
Most features are on either side of the headset. On the left is the brightness rocker to control how bright holograms are. The right-hand side has a volume rocker, power button, and charging port.
The top and back contain the adjustable Velcro strap to change how high/low the headset sits on your head, and a rear dial to accommodate different head sizes. Please note that the optimal fit for this headset is having the front visor floating just above the bridge of your nose.
Device Care
With all technology, proper care must be performed when using the equipment. Notably:
- Be aware of your surroundings at all times
- Power off the device when finished using
- Wipe down all touched hardware with disinfectant wipes when done using
- Note: disinfectant wipes should not be used on the lenses in the visor. Instead, use a microfiber cloth to clean any prints/dust on lenses in the headset.
- Return devices to hooks in AR cabinet and plug in when done using
- Report non-functional equipment to ETL staff if discovered
Failure to follow proper device care instructions may result in fines for damaged equipment upon device return
