"Navigation Collection Cannot Be Found" displayed after clicking on View Faculty Center Task in myPitt

Issue

The "Navigation Collection Cannot Be Found" error/message typically occurs when an external link/url is used to access PeopleSoft, and the link/url is taking you to a location within PeopleSoft that you do not have access to. This is seen more commonly when the View Faculty Center Task in myPitt is used to access the Faculty Center within PeopleSoft, and you do not have access to the Faculty Center.

Resolution

If you've clicked on the View Faculty Center Task in myPitt and receive the error described below, it means that you do not have the appropriate permissions to the Faculty Center within the PeopleSoft Student Information System.  

Text of Error Message:
"The Navigation Collection you have specified cannot be found.  There are two possible causes for this error: 1) The Navigation Collection specified is invalid or no longer exists, or 2) you do not have access to this Navigation Collection.  Contact your portal administrator."

If you are not Faculty or an Instructor teaching a class, please use the PeopleSoft Student Information System task in myPitt to access the PeopleSoft Student Information System. If you are Faculty or an Instructor teaching a class and believe that you should have access to the Faculty Center, please reach out to your departmental contact to get set up as an Instructor and assigned to the the classes you are teaching.

Faculty do not automatically get access to PeopleSoft (Faculty Center, Class Roster, Grade Roster). The Faculty members User Profile will not be created until their department adds their PeopleSoft ID to the Instructor/Advisor Table in PeopleSoft.
