Overview
This page provides information on Pitt Email (Outlook), the cloud-based enterprise email service available to all students, faculty, and staff at the University of Pittsburgh. Pitt Email (Outlook) is accessible by logging into myPitt.
Pitt Email (Outlook) utilizes Microsoft's Exchange Online/Office 365 Mail platform which provides email functions as part of the larger Office 365 environment. This enables Pitt Email (Outlook) to provide:
-
Quick access to the University's global address list for easy address lookups for anyone affiliated with the University
-
Seamless integration with the Exchange calendar function for scheduling meetings and reserving resources
-
Seamless integration with the Teams environment which can be used to support conference calls, web conferences, and Teams instant messaging
-
Fast and easy voice calling right from an Outlook client for phone extensions running on the Teams telephony platform.
Note: If you are an Applicant to the University you will be given a Pitt Applicant account to track your activation, but you will not receive an email access until you're fully enrolled. Once you accept enrollment, your account will convert to Primary in around 2 business days - this is when your email account will be granted!
