Pitt Worx is the University's enterprise Human Resource and Payroll system, powered by Oracle HCM.  It provides employees and administrators the ability to access and update human resources-related information. Employees utilize Pitt Worx to submit timecards, enroll in benefits, update personal information, view pay slips etc. University administrators utilize Pitt Worx to update employee records, approve timecards, review payroll processes, etc.

Key Features

  • HR Structure: Maintains the HR structure such as organizational hierarchies including Senior Officers, Responsibility Centers and departments, job and position structures, and grades and grade ranges.
  • Employee Information Management: Securely stores and manages employee data such as personal information, contact details, contract data, employment history, and other relevant information.
  • Administrator Transactions: Supports essential tasks for HR administrators such as processing new hires and transfers and streamlines processes related to personnel actions such as promotions, terminations, leaves, and salary increases.
  • Employee Self Service:  Allows employees to access and manage their personal information, submit timecards, view pay stubs, update contact details, and perform other self-service tasks without HR intervention. It acts as a hub for the most common HR-related actions an employee may wish to take on a day-to-day basis.
  • Benefits Administration: Manages employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, and more. It helps employees enroll in benefits, tracks eligibility, and review benefit-related documents and communications.
  • Time and Labor/Absence Management: Allows employees to track work hours, attendance, and time-off balances. Administrators can manage the functionality related to costing percentages for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Payroll Management: Automates payroll processing tasks, including calculating wages, deductions, taxes, and generating paychecks or direct deposits for employees.

How do I request this service?

  • This service is provided by the Office of Human Resources.  For additional information visit the Pitt Worx web site.
  • All University employees are granted access to Pitt Worx to submit timecards, enroll in benefits, update personal information, view pay slips etc. Those assigned direct reports will automatically receive the ability to review/approve direct reports’ timecards, etc.
  • To learn how to establish administrator access (submit employee actions, review employee records, review payroll registers, etc.) or modify your current access within Pitt Worx, please visit OHR’s System Access Requests site. You will find the access form for Pitt Worx as well as the process on how to complete and submit the form.

Who can use this service?

Faculty, Staff, Student Employees, Affiliates (Non University employees may also use the system for supervisory and approval tasks.)
