Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom, standalone browser application that locks the testing environment within a learning management system (LMS), preventing access to other applications, websites, screen capturing, and printing. It functions as a secure interface, restricting navigation to unauthorized URLs and preventing the closing of a quiz until it is submitted. Respondus Monitor is an integrated, webcam-based proctoring feature that requires Respondus Lockdown Browser to function, and further records student user environment and activities during the assessment, which can be reviewed by instructors.
