Creating an Exam Post in Elentra

To distribute an exam to learners, you must create an exam post.

  1. Click Admin in the horizontal menu items, and then click Manage Exams.

  2. Click on Exams in the Manage Exams menu.

  3. Locate the exam you want to post.

  4. Click the gear button on the right, and click Posts.

  5. Click the Add New Exam Post button.

Note: You will be guided through a multi-step wizard to configure your exam post. Complete each section, noting the following:

  1. Click Browse Events and select the course title.

  2. Choose the curriculum period or click Show all events.

  3. Click the appropriate event.

  4. Modify the Exam Title, add a Description, and Instructions (Optional).

  5. Click the Next button.

  1. Select the settings applicable to your posting:
    • Exam Start Date
    • Exam End Date
    • Submission Deadline
    • Time Frame — This determines where the exam will be displayed in the resources section of a learning event page.
    • Time Limit
    • Auto Submit — When checked and using the time limit, the exam will auto-submit when the limit is reached.
    • Hide Exams from Learners
    • Hide Exit Button — When checked, the Exit Exam button will be hidden.
    • Required — Require this exam to be completed by all audience members.
    • Attempts
    • Free Navigation — Allows the learner to freely navigate between questions.
    • Exam Security Mode
    • Mark for Faculty Review — Allows the learner to mark the ScratchPad for faculty review.
    • Calculator — Allows the learner to use the Calculator in the exam.
    • Self Timer — Allows the learner to set a Self Timer in the exam.

  2. Click the Next button.

  1. Confirm the exam audience.

  2. To add a Learner Accommodation or Exemption to a specific student, click the pencil in the edit column.

  3. Click the checkboxes for the following options:
    • Excluded — Choosing this will exclude the learner from the exam audience.
    • Exam Start and End Date — Click this and provide modified dates to change when a learner can access the exam.
    • Submission Deadline — Click this and provide a new deadline for a learner.
    • Extra Time — Click this and enter a percentage increase in time (up to 100%) for the learner to complete the exam.
    • Max Attempts — Click this and enter a modified number of exam attempts for the learner.

  4. Click the Update button.

  5. Click the Next button.

  1. Set the following setting for Pre-Submission Feedback:
    • Release Immediate Feedback — Allow feedback before the learner has submitted the exam.

  2. Set the following setting for Post-Submission Feedback:
    • Release Score — Release learner score after they have submitted.
    • Re-Attempt Threshold — Sets a threshold below which a student can retake the exam.
    • Attach GradeBook to Post — Link this post with a listing in the course gradebook. (This can also be done from the gradebook side.)

  3. Click the Next button.

  1. Confirm your Exam post details.
