Overview

University students, faculty, and staff have access to many services accessed through their web browser, such as Office 365 Email Online. Keeping your browser up to date ensures better security, performance, and compatibility with these services. This article will help you check your current browser version and upgrade to the latest version.

Check Your Current Browser Version

Firefox

  1. Click Help in the menu bar or press Alt + H.
  2. In the drop-down menu, click About Mozilla Firefox.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner of the browser.
  2. In the drop-down menu, click Help and then click About Google Chrome.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner of the browser.
  2. In the drop-down menu, click Help and feedback and then click About Microsoft Edge.

Safari

  1. Click Safari in the menu bar.
  2. In the drop-down menu, click About Safari.

 

Install the Latest Browser Version

Automatic Updates

Most modern browsers update automatically. If you check your browser version using the steps above, your browser will typically check for updates and install them automatically.

Manual Downloads

If you need to manually download the latest version:

  • Chrome: Download the latest version
  • Firefox: Download the latest version
  • Edge: Download the latest version
  • Safari: Updates are included in macOS system updates. Go to System Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.
