Incoming Student Checklist

Overview

As a continuation of the Student Experience Initiative, an incoming student checklist was built for first year undergraduate students in PeopleSoft/HighPoint CX. The Incoming Student Checklist is designed to prepare students for their arrival, ease their transition into the campus community, and ultimately set them up for success at Pitt.

The checklist displays what can be expected when on boarding to Pitt immediately following commitment and serves to connect the applicant, matriculant, and enrolled student experiences by providing one central location for students to easily navigate university information and requirements. The checklist will be available for most(*) Fall 2025 first-year, Pittsburgh campus students, beginning August 1, 2024.

Detail

The Incoming Student Checklist is accessible within Peoplesoft/HighPoint CX. The checklist is listed chronologically, by the month each task is available and/or due. Each task is marked as “pending” by default, which requires the student to manually mark as “complete” and saves the student’s progress as they move through the checklist. Once a student completes all applicable tasks in the checklist, they will be presented with an option to provide feedback.

To access the Incoming Student Checklist:

  1. Log into myPitt
  2. Use the PeopleSoft/HighPoint CX Task to log into PeopleSoft/HighPoint CX
  3. Using the left side Menu, select My Information > Incoming Student Checklist

Note, there is no direct connection between a task on the checklist and the task/activity itself, i.e. completion of a particular task/activity does not automatically toggle that checklist item to Complete. Likewise, toggling a task on the checklist to Complete does not affect the required action related to that task/activity. Toggling a checklist task to Complete is simply a means for students to track their individual progress of working through the checklist tasks/activities.

(*) This checklist will not be available for the following student populations: J-1 exchange, English Language Institute, College in High School, Visiting Undergraduate, Pitt-Outlier, University Summer Session, regional campuses.
