Claude for Education — Available Connectors
Overview
Claude for Education at the University of Pittsburgh includes a set of connectors that extend Claude’s capabilities by linking it directly to external tools and data sources. These connectors allow students, faculty, and staff to work with their existing platforms without leaving Claude, making AI-assisted work more practical and immediate. Key advantages include:
- Security: Access to data through the connectors uses the permissions of the current user so that only data authorized by those permissions is referenced
- Access to Real Data: Work directly with your university email, files, code repositories, and research databases through Claude
- Enhanced Research: Search biomedical literature, query large datasets, and discover related work without switching tools
- Streamlined Workflows: Create scientific figures, design presentations, and manage projects from within your Claude conversation
