Manually Install the Perceptive Content Windows Client

If you are a local admin on the/your machine you should be able to perform the install yourself if desired. The machine will need to be connected to Pitt Net either by being onsite or via a VPN like “Global Protect”.

Download the new version of the client from:

https://software.pitt.edu/

The software is currently listed under “ImageNow Client”

 

                

  1. After the updater/installer finishes downloading, Right click and “Run as administrator”
  2. Select “Yes” if prompted by UAC (Windows Security)
  3. Select OK for English
  4. Select “Next”
  5. Select “Accept” and scroll to the bottom to enable the “Next” button
  6. Select “Next”
  7. Ensure that the:
    1. “Perceptive Content Client Files”
    2. “Support for viewing non-graphic data”
    3. “ImageNow Printer”
    4. “Business Insight Integration”

Confirm the selections by comparing the symbols used on the image above versus the ones displayed on your machine. If there is a discrepancy and you want a specific feature installed, you can select the symbol’s drop down and select “This feature will be installed on local hard drive”

  1. Once all selection are confirmed or made, select “Next”
  2. Ensure that the “Deployment Server URL” is set to http://webnow.pitt.edu:8080/pedserver/
  3. Select “Next”
  4. Ensure that shortcuts are installed to the desired locations
  5. Select “Next”
  6. Select “Install”
  7. Select “OK”
  8. This process can take a few minutes when complete select “Finish”
  9. Restart your computer
  10. Login to Perceptive Content and ensure all functions, features, and capture profiles are working
