Pitt Digital offers several wireless networks on campus, each designed for a different type of user or device. Use the table below to find the network that’s right for you, or scroll down for full details on each option.

Pitt’s next-generation, modern, secure wireless network.

Best for Pitt students, faculty, and staff on modern devices
Security WPA3-Enterprise (modern standard) and a certificate required
Speed WiFi 6 GHz (WiFi 5 GHz also supported for older devices)
Access Trusted network granting additional access to select resources
Login Full Pitt email address and password
Setup A certificate must be accepted/installed on your device

 

Eduroam

Wireless access at Pitt and participating institutions worldwide.

Best for Traveling to or from other eduroam participating universities
Security WPA2-Enterprise and a certificate required
Speed WiFi 5 GHz only
Access No additional access beyond standard connectivity
Login Pitt users: full Pitt email address and password.
Visitors from other institutions: full institutional email address and password
Setup A certificate must be accepted/installed on your device

 

Pitt Guest

For visitors and quick, temporary access.

Best for Guests and visitors without a Pitt account
Login No credentials required; accept the Terms of Service to join
Renewal Access expires daily; users must reconnect and re-accept the terms each day
Consideration Not intended for use by Pitt students, faculty, and staff

 

PITT-MDA

For IoT (Internet of Things) devices.

Best for Smart devices and IoT hardware
Bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
Setup Device must be registered with the Pitt Digital Help Desk before connecting

 

MyResNet

Free, high-speed Wi-Fi network in residence halls.

Best for Wi-Fi in residence halls
Security Provided via the ResNet Portal
Speed WiFi 6 Ghz (WiFi 5 Ghz also supported for older devices)
Login MyResNet Wi-Fi password
Options MyResNet-6G for best performance, MyResNet-5G (default), MyResNet-2G for legacy devices

 

Wireless PittNet at UPMC

Pitt Wi-Fi at select UPMC locations.

Best for Pitt employees at UPMC locations
Speed 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
Login Pitt username or full email address and password
Current networks WIRELESS-PITTNET and PITT-MDA
