Talent Center

Talent Center logo

Talent Center is the University of Pittsburgh’s applicant tracking system, which is used for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of Staff, Students, Faculty and Temporary employees.  Talent Center facilitates the recruitment process by managing job postings, receiving, and tracking applications, and processing job offers. Talent Center is also used to facilitate the University onboarding process that new employees complete, prior to their first day of employment. These onboarding materials include, but are not limited to, personal details, tax withholding information, Form I-9, emergency contacts, and bank account details for direct deposit.

About This Service

Key Features

  • Requisitions – The requisition initiates the recruitment/hiring process and encompasses position (if applicable), job and department specific details about the recruitment. Once the requisition is approved, it will be posted to the University career sites for individuals to view and apply.
  • Application – If an individual is interested in a posted requisition on the University career sites (join.pitt.edu), they will submit an application for that requisition.  The application consists of applicant contact information, education, and experience.  The application also allows for individuals to attach relevant materials (e.g., resume, CV, cover letter, etc.) when applying.
  • Candidate Reviewing and Dispositioning – Once interested individuals submit their application through join.pitt.edu, their application details and supporting documents (e.g., resume, CV, cover letter, etc.) are available on the requisition. Hiring department users who have access to the requisition then have the ability to review and disposition applicants through the screening process.
  • Offers and Onboarding – Once a candidate is selected for hire, an offer will be created and submitted for approval in Talent Center. After being fully approved, the offer will then be extended to the candidate, which initiates the University onboarding process. The University onboarding process includes but is not limited to, personal details, tax withholding information, the Form I-9, emergency contacts, and bank account details for direct deposit.
