Error Generating Academic Advisement Report

Issue

Attempting to generate an Academic Advisement Report, getting error "Data being added conflicts with existing data."

Resolution

If getting error "Data being added conflicts with existing data. (18,2)" when submitting a new Advisement Report Request, please follow the steps below to resolve:

1. Click OK to acknowledge the error message, and then click on the Advisement Report Request Log tab to see what date, the report request created date, is causing the issue; Under Request Messages, find Message Text "Advisement report request created on mm/dd/yyyy at hh:mm:ss"
2. Run a new report for the same date that is causing the issue. Enter the report request created date obtained from the Advisement Report Request Log in Report Date and As of Date fields.
3. Click Process Request and the Advising Report Request should complete successfully.

If unable to resolve the issue following the above, please use Request Help to button to create a ticket for assistance.

Related Information

The SAA_RPT_RQST process errors as it is trying to insert the same key fields into the PS_SAA_RPT_ERROR table due to a prior report request not being successfully processed. 

Replication Steps

1. Navigate to Main Menu > Academic Advisement > Student Advisement > Request Advisement Report
2. Select Add a New Value
3. Enter
   1. ID (ID of student you are trying to generate an advising report for)
   2. Academic Institution = UPITT
   3. Report Type (Report Type/Transcript Type customer is selecting, AAADM for example)
4. Click Add
5. Click Process Request
6. Data conflict error message issued if able to replicate.
