Transferring a Call After Consulting in Microsoft Teams

Overview

This article describes how to transfer a Teams call after consulting.

 

Detail

A standard incoming call will appear as pictured on the left. Incoming calls to a person you are answering on behalf of will display a purple bar above the call notification, as pictured on the right.

1. Click the phone icon to answer the call.

2. Click the ellipsis icon (...) in your call controls and select Consult then transfer. The original caller is placed on hold. 

3. Start typing the name of the person to whom you want to consult and click Consult

4. A chat window will display. You can use chat to consult, or you can click the phone icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to call the individual and consult. 

5. After you have finished consulting, click Transfer. The call will end for you.

6. Click Stop consulting to return to the held call.

7. Click Resume to speak with the original caller.
