Overview
Your Pitt Email (Outlook) can be personalized by creating an alias such as John.A.Smith@pitt.edu. However, Globus uses your Pitt username such as jas987@pitt.edu. When a colleague shares a file with you on Globus using your email alias, you will receive a "Permission Denied" error. The solution is to link your email alias to your Pitt username in Globus.
Details
- With any Web browser, sign into the Globus Web App using your Pitt username.
- On the left panel, click Settings, then Link Another Identity:

- On the next screen, click "link an email address":

- Complete the process by entering the verification code that will be sent to you.
That's it. Files can now be shared to you on Globus using your alias.
