Overview
Lightning for Outlook is an application that will allow a Salesforce user to attach email messages to Salesforce records and view Salesforce records through Outlook. This is how to install and configure Lightning for Outlook for your personal Salesforce and Outlook accounts.

Outlook for Desktop Install
- Login to Outlook on your desktop.
- Click the “Get Add-ins” icon on the Home Ribbon in Outlook:

- Type “Salesforce” into the search bar and select the "Salesforce" option with the blue cloud logo

- Once on the “Salesforce” Add-In Page, click “Add”. This will give then give you a message that states "Added" when it is complete. You can now close the "Add-ins" window.

- After the installation is complete, navigate to an email in your inbox from the Home tab. The "Salesforce" icon (a blue cloud) should appear in your Home Ribbon. If it does not, then right click in an empty space on that Ribbon to "Customize the Ribbon". Then find the "Salesforce" or "View" Add-in under "All Commands" and add it to the Ribbon. *If you are still not able to find the "Salesforce" or "View" Icons, then try opening up an email message in its own window and the "View" icon should appear there.*
- You will now see a Salesforce icon in the top right of an inbound or outbound email. This will be how to access Lightning for Outlook functionality. Click that Salesforce icon and then click the “Login to Salesforce” button:

- This should open a new window. Once it does click on the “Use Custom Domain” link.
- Type “pitt” in the Custom Domain text field and click “Continue”:

- Login through Pitt Passport. Then click “Confirm”:

- You will now have the Salesforce Lightning for Outlook Pane available for you in Outlook.
- Close and Open your desktop version of Outlook to display the Salesforce Lightning for Outlook pane.
Lightning for Outlook Settings
You will need to adjust your setting to be able to send from an email alias.
- Login to Salesforce at erm.pitt.edu
- Click on your User icon or your Username to access the “Settings” option
- Then search for “My Email to Salesforce” in the Quick Find box in the top left and select it.
- Enter any additional email aliases you may have (separated by commas) in the My Acceptable Email Addresses field. Then click “Save”.
