Connecting to Printer Queues on Pitt IT’s Enterprise Print Server from Windows Computers

Printing from Pitt-owned/Pitt-managed Windows computers

A) If you log into your Pitt Windows computer with your Pitt Username (no @pitt.edu) and Password, perform these steps:

1. Connect to wired PittNet (GlobalProtect connection required)  -or-  Connect to WIRELESS-PITTNET (no GlobalProtect required)
 

2. Open File Explorer and key in \\enterpriseprint then press Enter.

3. Click on the View tab and switch to Details view for ease of navigation.

4. Locate the printer(s) for your department based off the naming scheme:
DepartmentBuildingRoomPrinter numbercolor(C) or monochrome(M)driver type.

For example, “Endpoint-CL-G39-1-C-PCL” (if a room has multiple printers, they will be numbered 1, 2, etc.)

5. Double-click, or right-click and choose Connect…, on the printer queue to add it to your computer. Allow a minute or two for the driver to install after connecting. Repeat this step for each printer queue you would like to add to your computer.

B) If you log into your Pitt Windows computer with your Pitt Email Address (username@pitt.edu) and Password, perform these steps:

1. Connect to wired PittNet (GlobalProtect connection required)  -or-  Connect to WIRELESS-PITTNET (no GlobalProtect required)
 

2. Click on the Start Menu > Settings > and in the window that opens click on Devices.

3. Click on Printers & scanners and then [+] Add a printer or scanner.

4. Use the drop-down menu that appears to select Work or school printer & scanner.

5. The cloud printers available to you will appear, locate the one(s) you would like to add and click Add device. Allow some time for the driver to install after clicking. Repeat this step for each printer queue you would like to add to your computer.

Printing from personally owned/un-managed Windows computers

Printing from non-Pitt-managed Windows computers requires you to add University of Pittsburgh as your work or school organization, perform these steps to do so:

1. Click on the Start Menu > Settings > and in the window that opens click on Accounts.

2. Click on Access work or school and then [+] Connect.

3. Use your Pitt Email Address and use your Pitt computing account to authenticate through the Pitt Passport and University of Pittsburgh will be added as your work or school organization, indicated as below.

4. Jump up to 'Printing from Pitt-owned/Pitt-managed Windows computers (cont.)' section, step two (2), of this document to continue for personal computer printing.
