How to Request a PeopleSoft ID be created for a non-PittWorx employee

Overview

The purpose of this article is to explain the process of requesting a PeopleSoft ID be created for a non-PittWorx employee.  This process should only be followed for the following reasons:

  • There is a need to add a non-employee as an instructor in PeopleSoft.
  • A PeopleSoft ID (EMPLID) does not yet exist in CDS or PeopleSoft for the employee because they have a temporary SSN associated with their employee record in PittWorx.

 

Detail

  1. If the employee you are looking to add as an instructor in PeopleSoft does not have a Pitt account yet, contact your Department Responsibility Center (RC) Admin and request to have a sponsored account created for the employee.
  2. Once a Pitt account exists, use Request Help to submit a Service Request and ask that a user profile and PeopleSoft ID be created; please indicate that the Service Request should be directed to the "Student Systems" team. 
  3. Once the user profile and PeopleSoft ID are created, if the employee is to be added as an instructor in PeopleSoft, someone within your department is responsible for updating the PeopleSoft Instructor/Advisor Table.  See How to Add an Employee to the Instructor/Advisor Table in PeopleSoft
