Overview
Occasionally incorrect admissions applications are entered into PeopleSoft either through integrations or manual entry. When this occurs, a process can be run in PeopleSoft that will delete the application. The purpose of this article is to detail the process on how to delete an admissions application from PeopleSoft.
Detail
- IMPORTANT: First, check the Application Center associated with the application you are planning to delete. For various reasons, an individual may have access to Application Center UPITT. Applications associated with Application Center UPITT are managed by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA).
- The Application Center can be found in the Main Menu > Student Admissions > Application Maintenance > Maintain Applications search results, or on the Application Data tab of the application in Maintain Applications.
- If the application you are planning to delete is associated with Application Center UPITT, and you are not a representative of OAFA, DO NOT DELETE THE APPLICATION. If you feel there is a valid reason to delete an application associated with Application Center UPITT, contact OAFA directly to discuss further.
- To confirm the correct application for deletion, navigate to Main Menu > Student Admissions > Application Maintenance > Maintain Applications and search for the applicant in question. You will need to obtain the PeopleSoft ID and Application Number to proceed.
- Navigate to Main Menu > Student Admissions > Application Delete > Delete an Application.
- Enter the student's PeopleSoft ID in the ID field.
- Enter the student's Application Number (has to be associated to the same student who you entered in the step above) in the Application Number field.
- Click Save.
- Note: Multiple applications can be deleted at the same time by inserting rows in the Application tab
- Navigate to Main Menu > Student Admissions > Application Delete > Application Delete Process.
- Click Search.
NOTE: This article assumes you are familiar with run control IDs in PeopleSoft. If you are not familiar with run control IDs, click HERE. The steps below start after you selected a run control ID.
- Click Run.
- Click the Application Delete Job box.
- Click OK.
- You will be returned to the Application Delete page where you should make note of the Process Instance number for later reference. If you want to monitor to job until it processes to completion, please click the Process Monitor link
- On the Process Monitor page, please note the Run Status of your job. Note: You may have to click the Refresh button a few times until the job completes

Please note that not everyone has the necessary permissions to perform this process. You must have one of the following PeopleSoft roles to do this: AD08_USER, AD08_APP_CORRECTION, or AD_FUNCTIONAL_LEAD_WORK. If you do not have access, there should be someone within your schools admissions office that does.
