Request to un-matriculate an Admissions Application in PeopleSoft

Introduction

This article provides information on requesting that an admission application be un-matriculated in PeopleSoft. A common scenario may be that the student is deferring to a future Admit Term, i.e. "deferring an applicant/student" or to "ADRV student".

Information

If a PeopleSoft admissions application is in the Program Action status of matriculated or "MATR", and there is a need to un-matriculate the application, the Office of the University Registrar needs to process the request.  This can be done by emailing registrarsystems@pitt.edu.

Information required to process this request includes:

  • PeopleSoft ID of the student
  • Student Name
  • Admit Term the un-matriculation needs to be applied to
  • Admission Application Number
  • Reason for the un-matriculation
    • Student decided not to pursue their studies with the university
    • Incorrect student was matriculated
    • Duplicate PS ID may have had the duplicate ID matriculated instead of the primary ID

Please note, based on the Admit Term of the application, if the point in the Term has been reached where Financial Aid and other Term related processing has commenced, the Office of the University Registrar will discontinue the Student Program/Plan rather than un-matriculate.

Note to Pitt Digital Technology Help Desk:

  • Customer may refer to this as "deferring an applicant/student" or to "ADRV students".
  • If a TDX Ticket has already been created for an un-matriculation request, it should be transferred to Responsibility Group "REGISTRAR - Student Systems"
