Unable to Select Student for Grade Change Request

Issue

Unable to select student for a Grade Change Request. Attempting to submit a Grade Change Request and getting "Invalid value -- press the prompt button or hyperlink for a list of valid values (15,11)" message on the Student ID field. 

The ability to request a grade change is limited to instructors and is available in the Faculty Center. If a term or a class is not listed, contact your department administrator. Refer to Submitting and Approving Grade Change Requests

 

Resolution

Possible Cause: The Instructor is not assigned as the Instructor to the class for which the grade change is being attempted. For example, the class may be from a past Term and a different Instructor was assigned to the class. An Instructor can only submit a grade change request for a student for a class they were assigned to as the Instructor.

Resolution for Cause: The grade change request must be submitted by the Instructor that was associated with the class for that Term, or by a designated Department Chair that can submit a Grade Change Request on their behalf.

 

Possible Cause: The Instructor does not have Approve access to the Grade Roster for the class. The Instructor was assigned to the class but may have only had access to enter final grades, Access=Grade for the associated class, but not approve the Grade Roster, Access=Approved.

Resolution for Cause: An Instructor assigned to the class with Access=Approved, or a Department Chair, will have to submit the Grade Change Request.

If the Instructor feels that they should have access to submit a Grade Change Request, refer the School/Department Admin to related Knowledge Base Article Missing Grade Roster for a Class

 

Possible Cause: The Grade Roster for the associated class has not been posted yet. If you are attempting to change a grade for a student in a class relative to the final grading period for the Academic Term, it's possible that the Grade Roster for the class has not been posted yet. You can not process a Grade Change Request until the student has an official grade posted for the class.
