Using Your Canon with uniFLOW

Secure Print

Submit a print job to the SecurePrint queue named “Pitt Secure Printing.”

  1. Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  2. On the Main Menu press the “SecurePrint” Icon. Highlight your secure print job(s).
  3. Choose the “Edit” button to change print features as desired. (Note: Eco-Staple or Free Staple options must be selected at time of submission.)
  4. Press “Print”. (Selected Print Job(s) will print out & also hold in Personal Queue for printing at a later time)

Scan to Email

Scan to Myself

  1. Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  2. On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to Myself”.
  3. Have a document in the feeder or on the platen glass.
  4. If auto feeding does not occur, press “Scan”.
  5. You can also change any desired scan settings presented.
  6. Select “Next”.
  7. Once scanning is complete and processed, you will receive and email with your scan as an attachment from “secureprint@pitt.edu”.
  8. Verify you received the email with your scan.

Scan to Someone

  1. Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  2. On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to Exchange”.
  3. Have a document in the feeder or on the platen glass. If auto feeding does not occur, press “Scan”.
  4. You can also change any desired scan settings presented.
  5. Select “Next”.
  6. Enter the appropriate email addresses to the To, CC and BCC fields as needed.
  7. Select “Next”.
  8. Once scanning is complete and processed, you will receive and email with your scan as an attachment from secureprint@pitt.edu.

Scan to SharePoint

  1. Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  2. On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to SharePoint”.
    Note: If you have not already registered your Scan to Sharepoint account you will get the following message: “uniFLOW Online is not yet connected to this enxternal service. An email has been sent to you with instructions.” Register your account at your computer and try again.
  3. Have a document in the feeder or on the platen glass.
  4. If auto feeding does not occur, press “Scan”.
  5. You can also change any desired scan settings presented.
  6. Select the appropriate Site folder path.
  7. If browsing the root or a Site folder you do not have access to, the Next button will be greyed out.
  8. Press Next.

Optional – Fill out any of the meta data needed for this file if required. Press Next. Name the file. Press Next. Verify the scan file is in SharePoint.

Scan to OneDrive

  1. Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  2. On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to OneDrive” Icon.
  3. Follow onscreen instructions.
    On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to SharePoint”.
    Note: If you have not already registered your Scan to Sharepoint account you will get the following message: “uniFLOW Online is not yet connected to this enxternal service. An email has been sent to you with instructions.” Register your account at your computer and try again.
  4. Have a document in the feeder or on the platen glass.
  5. If auto feeding does not occur, press “Scan”.
  6. You can also change any desired scan settings presented.
  7. Select a folder in your OneDrive.
  8. Press Next.
  9. Verify the scan file is in your OneDrive folder.

Scan to Desktop

Prerequisite – You must have the uniFLOW SmartClient installed on your computer for this scan feature to work.

  • Log in to the Canon MFD with your PITT ID Card or PIN, if not already logged in.
  • On the Main Menu press “Scan”, then “Scan to Desktop” Icon.
  • Have a document in the feeder or on the platen glass.
  • If auto feeding does not occur, press “Scan”.
  • You can also change any desired scan settings presented.
  • Press Next.
  • Verify the document was received in your documents directory of your user profile. It will be in a sub directory called “uniFLOW Scan Files”.
