Students pay a flat fee per semester, which covers student technology services and provides all students equal access to a wide variety of tools at significant savings negotiated by the University. Individual software/cloud service licenses alone have a retail value of more than $2,500.

Technology Perks at Pitt include, but are not limited to:

  • Technology Help Desk – Get tech support anytime—including holidays—via phone, email, chat, or an online form
  • Adobe Creative Cloud – Access the latest Windows and Mac versions of Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop software for illustrations, graphics, videos, mobile and web design, and photography projects
  • Cloud Storage – Online storage for individual files as large as 15GB through Microsoft OneDrive
  • Drop-In Support – In-person support with software installation and virus removal

  • Pitt Video (Panopto) – View recorded lectures on almost any device; search and annotate recordings to help enhance the learning experience
  • PittNet Wi-Fi – Internet access in all academic and administrative buildings
  • PittPrint/MobilePrint Stations – Print to more than 70 print stations across campus
  • Residence Hall Wi-Fi (MyResNet) – Access for web browsing, video/music streaming, and online gaming at speeds up to 80 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload per device—on up to ten devices at a time
  • Software Download Service – Access nearly 70 software titles for engineering, mathematics, statistics, and more
